Get the Buzz on Benefits: Attracting and Retaining Employees with Affordable Benefits, a free workshop for members will be held on Tuesday, June 24 from 8:30am-10:30am at the Manhattan Union Pacific Depot. Reservations are required. Eight panel members with expert knowledge will speak and answer your questions regarding employee benefits for small businesses such as Retirement Accounts, Health Savings Accounts, Employee Rewards Programs, Supplemental Insurance, Disability Insurance, 401 K Accounts, Flex Spending Accounts, Group Health Insurance, Tax Advantages, Child Care Help, Keys to Write-Offs, and Free Business Help. This workshop is sponsored by Starbucks.
A series of seminars on leadership, High-Performance Leadership: From Control to Empowerment, will be held on alternate Wednesday mornings in July. Each seminar will be held from 8:30am-10:30am in the Chamber boardroom. The cost for members is $39 per Wednesday or $99 for all three. This series is sponsored by United Bank & Trust. In Principles of Leadership, (Wednesday, July 2) you will learn the importance of leadership in achieving long-term organizational success, discover the five myths of leadership, understand the difference between leadership and management, and learn the difference between controlling and empowering.
In Practices of Empowering Leaders, (Wednesday, July 16) you will learn that empowering leaders have a driving passion to realize their vision, they build and sustain trust with their followers, they unleash the commitment and motivation of their followers, are social and organizational architects and act from positive beliefs about people and situations.
In the Five Leadership Roles, (Wednesday, July 30) you will examine the three core elements of team effectiveness, learn the five roles of leadership, discover the appropriate balance of the five roles, understand how to lead from “the balcony,” and learn how to use a set of diagnostic questions.
